• This filter is available from the Greek company Veluda, which is a member of the World Water Quality Organization in America (WQA in USA -Water Quality Association-), as well as the corresponding Hellenic Water Organization (HWA -Hellenic Water Association-). Filtering Capacity:

• Contains Granulated Coconut Activated Carbon and Calcium Sulphate. Specifically, Coconut Granulated Activated Carbon (G.A.C) filters are more effective in removing radioactive iodine 131, chlorine, trihalogenomethanes (THMs), chemicals, impurities and volatile organic chemical compounds (VOCs) from water. Whereas, calcium sulfite, Calcium Sulfite, is 100 times more effective than activated carbon in removing chlorine and heavy metals, such as lead. mercury, cadmium and aluminium.
   

Tips- Instructions of use: 

• Regular maintenance (changing filters) is important to prevent pressure drop and maintain water quality.
• When replacing the filter ensure that you have successfully removed the old replacement filter.
• Before use, let the water run for at least 15-20 minutes.
• For drinking water only.
• Do not use in water that is not microbiologically safe or of unknown quality, without adequate treatment before or after the unit.
• Particular attention should be paid to the case where an activated carbon filter remains unused for a long period of time (eg during summer holidays). By removing free chlorine from the water, it allows the water trapped inside the filter to grow bacteria. In this case it is mandatory to clean the filter by passing at least ten times the amount of water of the total capacity of the filter (e.g. for a common table filter where the volume of water inside the filter is about 1 – 1.5 liters, it is required to 10 liters of water should be transferred before it is used.)
